Get clear insights before deciding to treat and prevent hair loss before it's too late.

If you start to notice that your hair is thinning, your scalp is more visible, your hair is getting smaller, or you are losing more than usual, it may not be “seasonal hair loss” or “stress” anymore. And if you have tried many methods, such as changing shampoos, taking supplements, or even topical medications, and it “doesn’t work”, it may be time to consider deep root treatment.

Pure Clinic would like to recommend a very popular program among our patients who have been treated with us and have seen good results in many cases, which is PRP + LED Therapy, a hair root restoration program that combines two technologies without surgery.

What is PRP + LED Therapy? Why is it suitable for people with serious hair loss problems?

🔬 PRP: Restore your hair roots with your own “platelet rich” blood.

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) is a process in which a small amount of your own blood (about 20 cc) is drawn and spun using a special centrifugal machine to extract only the plasma with contains high concentration of platelets, which are then injected back into the scalp. These platelets are rich in growth factors and other biomolecules.

The main benefits of PRP for the scalp are:

  • Restore weak hair root cells to function again

  • Increase blood circulation, allowing nutrients to reach the hair roots well.

  • Stimulates hair root stem cells (Hair Stem Cell)

  • Extend the life cycle of hair, preventing it from falling out too quickly.

  • Reduces chronic scalp inflammation, which often accelerates hair loss.

Simply put, PRP helps “revive” the hair follicles that are still viable before they stop working permanently.

💡 LED Light Therapy: Stimulates hair growth from the outside.

LED Light Therapy , or “light-emitting diode”, is a technology that uses light energy in a specific wavelength range, such as red (640 nanometers), to:

  • Stimulates blood circulation in the scalp area.

  • Reduces chronic inflammation in pores

  • Stimulates hair follicle cells to work more efficiently.

  • Energizes hair root cells (Mitochondria stimulation), resulting in increased new hair growth.

There are several medical studies supporting the efficacy of Red Light Therapy (RED) specifically in the 630–660 nm wavelength range in treating “ androgenetic alopecia ” by stimulating hair growth and significantly increasing hair density.

Therefore, LED is like a “reinforcer” to make PRP more effective and is also suitable for people with weak, easily irritated scalps or chronic inflammation from shampoo or chemical residue.

Who is the PRP + LED Therapy program suitable for?

  • People who have problems with hair loss, diffuse or localized hair loss

  • Men who start to have some growth in the M area or the middle of the head.

  • A woman whose hair has become thinner and thinner all over her head

  • People who experience stress, hormonal changes, illnesses, and hair loss follow.

  • People who do not want to undergo hair transplant surgery

How many treatments does it take? When will I see results?

PRP treatment with LED generally takes 45 minutes to 1 hour per session. In the early stages of treatment, it should be done continuously at least 1-2 times per month for the first 3-5 times to ensure that the hair roots receive sufficient necessary nutrients and are continuously stimulated to produce a clear response from the hair roots.

  • ✅ Month 1: Reduced hair loss. Hair loss has stopped significantly.

  • ✅ Month 2-3: New hair starts to grow small.

  • ✅ 4th month onwards: Hair becomes thicker, scalp starts to look less thin.

Once the hair roots have recovered, PRP can be done every 1-2 months to maintain healthy hair roots.

Does PRP really work for hair treatment?

The answer is that it is effective for those who have “living hair roots.” If left untreated for a long time until the hair roots are permanently dead (e.g., the scalp is shiny, smooth, and has no hair follicles), PRP treatment may not be effective and other methods, such as hair transplantation, may need to be considered.

Your doctor will assess whether your hair follicles can still be stimulated.

At Pure Clinic, we emphasize sincerity in planning your treatment so that you don’t waste unnecessary time and expenses.

Pain, risk and recovery

  • Does it hurt? While the PRP injection is injected, you may feel a little pain from the injection needle, but the doctor will apply a cold compress beforehand to reduce the feeling during the injection.

  • Recover? No need to recover, no wounds, can return to normal life immediately.

  • Are there any side effects? Since your own blood is used, the chances of an allergic reaction are very low. There may only be temporary redness or soreness.

Top 10 Frequently Asked Questions about PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)

1. Is it really safe to use your own blood to do PRP?

Yes, PRP uses your own blood, without any foreign substances. After centrifuging, only concentrated platelets are extracted and then injected into specific areas.

Advantages: No chance of chemical allergies, no risk of cross-infection, suitable for people with sensitive skin or a history of drug allergies.

2. After PRP, “Will my hair grow back?”

PRP is effective in people whose hair roots are still alive and who have not lost hair for a long time until the hair follicles are completely closed. If the hair follicles are still there, PRP has a very good chance of stimulating new hair growth.

If your scalp is smooth, shiny, or has no pores at all, your doctor may consider a hair transplant instead.

3. Do I need to take additional medication after PRP?

Generally, it is not necessary to take medication because PRP stimulates cells from within your own body. However, in some cases where hair loss is caused by hormones, the doctor may recommend vitamin supplements or specific medications in conjunction for better and more sustainable results.

4. Do I have to do PRP for the rest of my life?

You don't have to do it for the rest of your life. PRP treatment is like stimulating the hair roots to work again. If you take good care of it and don't let it fall out again, the results can last for years.

However, if there are factors that trigger hair loss, such as stress, illness, or hormonal changes, it may be necessary to repeat the treatment periodically to maintain the condition.

5. Are there any contraindications for people who should not have PRP?

The following groups of people should consult their doctor carefully before undergoing PRP :

  • People with thrombocytopenia

  • People with certain blood diseases, such as lupus and leukemia

  • People who take immunosuppressive drugs or have autoimmune disorders

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women (should wait until after delivery)

6. After PRP, can I wash my hair, exercise, dye my hair, or color it?

  • Shampooing : Wait for the first 24 hours after the procedure, then you can shampoo as usual.

  • Exercise : Avoid for the first 24 hours to prevent the blood from pumping too hard and affecting the injection site.

  • Hair coloring / dyeing / perming / straightening : You should wait at least 5-7 days to allow your scalp to recover first.

7. What happens if PRP injections are ineffective?

If the hair roots respond little or not at all, the obvious result is “no new hair growth”, but it does not cause more hair loss or worsening of the scalp because PRP does not destroy the hair root cells.

The advantage is that the doctor will always assess the chance of a preliminary response before treatment to reduce the risk of unnecessary time and expense.

8. Are PRP and “hair root cell injection” or “stem cells” the same?

They are not the same.

  • PRP is the use of our own blood, separated by platelets to stimulate hair root cells.

  • Hair root cells or stem cells are often a complicated technique and are not yet standardized in general clinics in Thailand.

PRP is therefore a safe method that is effective in appropriate groups and has a lot of research to support it.

9. Can women have PRP?

Yes, of course. PRP is suitable for women who have hair loss that is widespread all over their heads or hair loss caused by hormones (e.g. after giving birth, stress, lack of rest). Don't be afraid of baldness. Don't wait for obvious thinning hair because the sooner you treat, the better the results.

10. Can PRP really help my hair become “thicker”?

It can help in some cases, especially those who have problems with “hair thinning from hormones or lack of blood supply to the hair roots.” When the hair roots are stronger from PRP, the new hair that grows may be denser and larger, making it look more voluminous.

Summary

PRP + LED light therapy is a safe, non-surgical hair loss treatment that focuses on restoring the hair roots directly. It is suitable for those who want to seriously solve the problem of thinning hair without wanting to have a hair transplant.

If you start to feel that your “hair is thinner than ever”, don’t wait until it’s too late. Because early treatment = there is still a chance to get thicker hair again.
